The CBI has kept Chidambaram as the Guest at the Inauguration

New Delhi: Former Union minister and veteran Congress leader P. Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI on Wednesday night from his government residence in Jor Bagh in Delhi. The CBI team has brought him to the CBI headquarters. Interestingly, the CBI team arrested the former Home Minister and brought it to the building (CBI Headquarters), Chidambaram was one of the chief guests here at the inauguration of this building. This new building of CBI was inaugurated in 2011.

In 2011, P. Chidambaram was the Home Minister of the country and the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh inaugurated the CBI building. Apart from P. Chidambaram, other leaders including Kapil Sibal, Veerappa Moily, Mallikarjun Kharge were also present at this inaugural event.


Now there are reports that the former Union Minister will be kept in the CBI headquarters here overnight and the CBI will present him in the court from here on Thursday. Earlier on Tuesday night, CBI and ED were looking for P. Chidambaram. But both agencies could not trace them. After this, Chidambaram suddenly reached Congress headquarters at 8 pm on Wednesday night, where he immediately returned home after reading his written statement for 10 minutes. Following them, the CBI and ED teams reached the Congress headquarters, but by then they had left for home. After this, CBI arrested him by going to his residence.
